   I think our whole class did very well on the United Nations World Issues project. When i watched all the movies and wikispaces about the United Nations and various branches of it, I learned that many people are suffering everyday and the UN is trying to help them. What I found surprising was that even though the UN were trying to help everyone around the world people are still dieing of things that we could have prevented. What I found interesting was that terrorists go to extreme lengths like mass killings to get what they want.

If I could do this project a second time I would start the project by myself instead of with a group because  they spend too much time arguing. I would also get my music so that it was compatible with Macs so that my movie would not be as boring as bat poo. I would also probably spend more time with my text to make it better than anyones in the class.

1. What is the issue

The issue is that there are people that cracked the H-D DVD key and they posted it on many internet blogs so everyone could see. Once you know the key you can copy and pirate as many H-D DVDs as you want. Futhur contributing to the Chinese piracy.

2. Who is involved

The U.S is involved because they are furious that people are posting the key on the internet. The posters are involved because they are the ones posting the key. The people that pirate the movies are involved because they now have the key that would help them copy movies.

3. Who is affected and how

The U.S is affected because they will lose futhur millions of dollars. The shops that sell “real” DVD’s will be affected because they will get less money because everyone are bying the cheaper copied versions. Also the bloggers are effected because if they are caught they could be put in jail.

4. What would you do if you were directly involved

If i were directly involved i would help the officials track down and stop the blogging of the key to continue. I would also try to help create an “uncrackable” key.

 Q. Discuss whether you feel the U.N.’s power should be increased to have enforcement authority over any nation or should it be decreased to only provide humanitarian aid when asked.

A. I think that the U.N’s power should remain how it is right now. I think that their power should stay as it is because if the power were to be increased so that they could have enforcement authority over any nation because if they make a bad decision they might accidentally make situations a lot worse. I also do not think that the united nations power should be decreased because then some countries would not get the help that they needed and the situation will become worse. So I think that the U.N should stay the way that they are for the good of everyone. Q. In todays class we all dressed up and we all said a speech while trying to be the person that you are talking about in the speech. I thought it would be extremely boring but i turned out quite alright. I learnt alot about egyptians today but the funnyest thing would have to be how different sources state different things so 2 people who were supposed to be married lived about 400 years apart. One of my favorite parts of the class was trying to guess what the people were before they started by their costumes. If I could do this presentation again i would get more information to make the speech more informative and more interesting. I would also practice more so that i would not be as nervous when i did my presentation so that it would be better.

Horus
When you look up at the night sky do you ever wonder what the ancient Egyptians though about the sky? I am the mighty Egyptian god of the sky, HORUS!!! I was worshipped in many forms but my main form was a man with a falcon’s head. I will now tell you about what I was a symbol of, what I did, and why people worshipped me.
Now you may be wondering who I am and what I do. I am the mighty god of the sky, son of Isis and Osiris. You also might know me by many of these other names Heru, Hor, Harendotes/Har Nedj Itey and Har Pa Neb Tau. My most known form is Har Sa Iset or Harsiesis which I am depicted as a child, the son of Osiris and Isis. I was conceived magically after the death of Osiris. I was then brought to an island by Isis to protect me from Set. But actually I am just a general term for many different amounts of falcon gods.
I was a very significant god in Egyptian religion because I am the god of the sky. In the ancient times the Egyptians would wonder why the moon was darker than the sun. In the end they came up with a tale of how in the battle that Horus had with Set, set gouged out Horuses right eye and since Horuses right eye was the moon the moon lost most of its brilliant light. It is said that Horus battles constantly with set to keep the sun rising. So I had a very large significance in the lives of the Egyptians and I made a great impact on them too.
I had many major impacts on Egyptian society and life. In lower Egypt they thought that their Pharaoh was the son of Isis and Osiris, in other words they thought he was me. Other ways I impacted Egyptian society were that they would stay home and pray to me a lot because I was also the sign of heaven. So I actually impacted and helped a lot to shape the ancient Egyptian society .
So now you know what I was a symbol of, what I did, and why people worshipped me. In the end I was a very important god and I impacted and I helped shape Egyptian society as it is today.

1.How are your 2 events connected?

Our two events are connected because my news article was about people pirating games and how the prices have had to go up because the game companys are losing money. Bryans event was about people pirating DVDs and people not paying the full price so the U.S is losing money.

2.What did you find interesting about the topic?

I found the topic interesting because nearly all of malaysias movies and games are pirated. So I would like to find out about what the Americans and the news groups say about it.

3.What did you like about the initial blog posting?
I liked the way bryan put alot of expression in his presentation and how he used many pictures to make the  posting more colourful and interesting. I also liked it how bryan put alot of information so that you gain a deep understanding of what he is telling you.

4.What do you think he should work on?

I think bryans blog is fantastic!!! Although i think bryan should make the different questions stand out a bit more like bolding or a bigger size.

A true-colour image of Mars taken by the Osiris camera on Rosetta. The image was acquired from a distance of about 240,000km.

1.What is the Issue

The issue is that a probe that we sent flew around mars to gather speed on its way to Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet out near Jupiter.

2.Who is Involved

All the scientists who study space and the creation of the universe are involved because when the probe lands on the comet it will get lots of information for the scientists to work on and find out about.

3.Who is affected and how?

The whole world is affected because we will find out more about the world and the universe when the scientists study the comet.

4.What would you do if you were directly involved?

I would send more probes and moniter the first one so that the voyage is a complete success and not a disaster. I would also tell everybody all the information that we discovered to make the world more “knowing”.

Our 2 current events were connected because Bryans current event was about a kid being hit by a car while wearing heelys. My current event adds on to that and says they are starting a heely school to teach people how to use heelys because if not used properly can be potencially dangerous. At the school they teach people how to balence and use heelys properly.

I found it interesting that a boy playing with heelys got hit by a car. Even though the people advertising heelys said they were 100% safe.

I liked the way that Bryan pronounced all the words clearly. I also liked the way that he put lots of information that would answer any question on the blog.

I think Bryan should put more links on so that people could go to the link to find more information.

 

 

1.What would you change about the final product (the Wiki you created) if you were to do the assignment again?

If i were to do the assignment again i would change a number of things. The first thing i would change would be to get better and more information to make my Wiki better. Then i would also chance the formatting to make it more interesting and finally i would put some more pictures and colour on my Wiki.

2.Look at some of the other Wikis from any class and find a few that you think are done exceptionally well. Tell me the name of the empire and the block, and then explain what you like about their Wiki.

Block H-Ghana

I liked the way that the people who made the Ghana page put a picture for every subject which added colour and interest to the page. I also liked the way that they linked the page to a time-line. I thought that the best part of their Wiki was the abundance of links to link for you if you do not know what a word or thing is.
